The iconic Town House houses professional dance and drama studios alongside performance and event spaces. In addition, students benefit from extensive resources, including equipment such as cameras, camcorders, tripods, PA systems, microphones, laptops and more. Specialised spaces, including audio recording studios, film editing suites and broadcast media rooms are available to enhance learning experiences.

Kingston School of Art is a vibrant hub where students can experiment, collaborate, and grow, with the resources and support needed to excel in their creative journeys.

Our nursing students are taught by the Simulated Learning and Clinical Skills Team in clinical, community, and practice health settings. 

The Nursing Simulated Learning and Clinical Skills Centre features:

• A simulated ward
• A medication room
• Clinical classrooms
• An immersion suite for immersive learning scenarios.

Equipped with audio-visual systems for recording simulations, students participate in award-winning simulations with role players and manikins, gaining essential skills for safe and effective patient care.

Our education building has teaching rooms designed to replicate real classrooms, including subject-specific rooms like art and science labs. Each room is equipped with the necessary facilities to practice lessons before teaching in schools. The outdoor learning environment allows trainee teachers to lead curriculum-linked activities with children, featuring a cubby house, pond, beehive, and nature trail.

The Nightingale Centre library offers a wide range of teaching resources, including children's books, music CDs, and kits for illustrating subjects like history, religion, science, maths, and music.

Our skills lab is a purpose-built facility where social work students have the opportunity to learn and practise key social work skills.

The skills lab allows you to develop your assessment and intervention skills. Including other skills such as mentoring, teaching and providing reflective supervision in a real-life setting. It has been designed to be a multi-functional space which can be changed according to the simulated activities required.

The skills lab is divided into several sections including:

• a seminar/case conference room for a maximum of 20 people
• a simulated living-room and front door to assist in developing skills relating to home visits
• five interview rooms simulating work environments
• a control room with two-way mirror and viewing monitors
• all rooms have fitted cameras and microphones so that activities can be recorded

Our Kingston Hill campus offers you modern facilities and includes well-equipped laboratories where you can practise within a safe environment. Our new simulation suite houses all the equipment needed to develop clinical practice skills.

This versatile space can be used for simulated home settings or a delivery suite setting. It also has a range of equipment, including:

• a birthing pool
• birthing mattresses
• manikins
• resuscitaires 
• exercise balls

Forensic science students have access to a scene-of-the-crime house on the Penrhyn Road campus, where they gain hands-on experience in crime scene investigation. The house has five rooms set up with mock crime scenes such as burglary, arson, and assault. Students collect and preserve evidence for analysis in the lab.

The campus also includes a crime laboratory for trace evidence analysis, advanced equipment for detecting drugs, and a new DNA analysis lab for studying biological samples. Additionally, students receive expert witness training, including mock cross-examinations at Kingston Crown Court.

Our modern nutrition kitchen is a dedicated space that has been designed to the latest specifications. It is a flexible and inviting teaching space which we use for food science practicals and research projects. In addition to student nutrition society events along with small group teaching (e.g. assignment and revision tutorials) and personal tutor meetings.

The exercise physiology laboratory is equipped with advanced tools to measure physiological responses to exercise, including: 

• oxygen consumption
• heart rate
• blood pressure
• fat oxidation

This laboratory features altitude and heat chambers for testing in different environmental conditions and ergometers like treadmills and rowing kayaks for sports-specific performance analysis. The laboratory supports practical learning and research, offering services to top athletes.

The biomechanics lab, used for teaching and research, is equipped with force platforms, motion analysis cameras, electromyography, and an isokinetic dynamometer to analyze sports movements and skills.

The flight simulator features a comprehensive setup allowing students to experience realistic flight scenarios. The flight simulator is equipped with visual display, instrumentation, pilot controls, motion base and instruction station. This advanced simulator helps students develop the necessary skills and confidence for a career in aviation.

Our computer science and gaming students have access to the CAVE (Centre for Augmented and Virtual Reality). Equipped with advanced technology like VR headsets and tools for tracking eye movements and brain activity. This enables students to create innovative games while monitoring user enjoyment.

The lab encourages collaboration between computing and design students, fostering interdisciplinary partnerships. ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ’s innovative approach led to an educational partnership with Sony in 2017, making it one of only twelve universities with this distinction.
