Smoothing the transition from school to University
The ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ Autism Transition Day is a summer event for students moving to a higher education institution for the first time. It is your chance to:
- Get an insight into university life
- Learn how to manage your sensory needs and navigate group work
- Find out about the types of support available at Kingston
- Go on a tour of campus
- Chat to the Disability and Mental Health team one-to-one
- Ask questions

Frequently-asked questions
We recommend attending all sessions to get the most out of the day. We also understand that this won’t be right for everyone, so there’s no pressure to participate if you don’t want to. There will be plenty of breaks in the programme, as well as a quiet room nearby.
Autism Transition Day is aimed at students transitioning from school to higher education for the first time. You’re also welcome to come along if you’re at a different level but think you would find the event useful.
You can bring up to two parents, carers or guardians with you to Autism Transition Day. Please let us know on the application form. There will be a dedicated session for parents, carers or guardians to ask questions.
